PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
===================
Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit (NMIT) 4.1 is a content authoring tool
that supports the creation of Mobile Internet content like XHTML,
MMS, WAP and DRM, which can be previewed and tested on Nokia terminal
SDKs and Series 40, Series 60 Developer Platform SDKs.

NEW FEATURES
============
-Integrated Digital Rights Management (DRM) editors for protecting
content with digital rights objects against unauthorized use.
-MMS presentation support for transitions (SMIL 2.0) and time-line
 (SMIL 3GPP PSS5).

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
===================
Windows 2000 with SP3 or Windows XP with SP1a
Java Runtime Environment 1.4.1 (JRE 1.4.1_02 is recommended)
 667MHz or faster PC
 256 MB or more RAM

ISSUES FIXED IN THIS RELEASE
============================
-MMS editor now allows use of Chinese characters in MMS headers.

-In the File->Open dialog menu, Chinese file names are now
 displayed properly.

-From command line, if you enclose the file path within quotes,
even files with spaces in their path can be opened in NMIT.

-In the DTD Manager, 'Auto-generation of a DTD template' used to
create a template only with root element. Now it uses a template
which accounts for other required elements as well
(Example: card element in a WML document).

-In the DTD Manager, path of registered DTD used to be deleted
when Replace button was selected. Button labels and behavior
have changed in the DTD manager.

KNOWN ISSUES
============

DTD MANAGER
-----------
-Multiple shortcut icons appear in the respective 'Available types'
menu tabs when a DTD is registered ('Register DTD' button) multiple
times with the same 'DTD Properties' information. This adds only
one DTD in the 'Available DTDs' list.
Workaround: Use a unique Public ID for each DTD to be registered.

EDITOR - GENERAL
----------------
-Files saved using the Save Binary button do not appear in the
 Recent Files List.
Workaround: None.

EDITOR - MMS
------------
-Lack of system memory might cause errors when large parts are added
to an MMS message or when an MMS message is saved.
Workaround: Incrementally add parts to MMS Message and save.

-MMS editor renders GBK-encoded text files as binary, not text.
Workaround: Text for GBK-encoded file may be viewed in the respective
NMIT editor or a text editor.

-Saving and re-opening an MMS message erroneously inserts a blank line
between default and newly added headers. This has no affect on the
delivery of the MMS message and it's header values.
Workaround: None.

-MMS Editor's 'Add Part...' option cannot follow shortcuts to
 directories containing parts.
Workround: Map the remote directory to a local drive and then
access the parts via the mapped drive.

-'Generate MMS' functionality from SMIL/MMS Wizard editors
does not support SMIL files that use a Content ID schema
 (example: src=cid:picture.jpg).
Workaround: Add such parts manually in the MMS editor and edit
the Content ID headers of the part as needed.

-Icons of long MMS Part names do not appear correctly in the Parts List.
Workaround: Use shorter file names.

EDITOR - PUSH
-------------
-Store Source button has been removed from SL, CO, and SI editors.
Workaround: Use File->Save to save file as source (.sl, .si and .co) and
'Save as Binary' button to save as binary (.slc, .sic and .coc).

-A Service Indication message cannot be pushed if the text from the
Info Section's Class and Item fields contains an embedded space.
Workaround: Avoid using embedded spaces in entries in Info Sections's
            Class and Item fields.

-Saving a Service Indication message inserts one space to the beginning
of values in the Info Section's Item1/Item2 fields.
Workaround: Message can still be pushed without errors.

-Pushing a Multipart message fails if it contains a part with a
 Chinese Date header.
Workaround: Use English in the Date header value.

-Cannot push '.sic' files to either Nokia 7210 or Nokia 3510i SDKs.
Workaround: Perform the following steps to configure the 7210/3510i SDK.
-Close NMIT and any running instances of the 7210 or 3510i SDKs.
            -Open the file C:\Nokia\Devices\<SDK_Name>\device.profile
-In the device.load-types section of the device.profile installed
with the SDKs, add the following content type:
                            application/vnd.wap.sic
-Install the Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator (NWGS).
-Start NMIT, start NWGS, restart SDKs.
-Configure the SDKs to use NWGS by entering the IP address
127.0.0.1 as the address of the WAP gateway.
-Push the SI message from NMIT to the SDKs again.

-Pushing a Multipart file (.mpc) with no parts provides no warning.
Workaround: None.

EDITOR - WBMP
-------------
-Toggling between Scale Image and Resize Canvas buttons does not change the
right hand pane containing Scale image input boxes or the Resize canvas tool.
Workaround: None.

EDITOR - WMLS
-------------
-Double clicking a WMLS error message does not show the
corresponding line with error in the WMLS editor.
Workaround: Manually spot the error.

EDITOR - XHTML
--------------
-Find and Replace does not work correctly on text files
 with non-latin characters.
Workaround: Find and Replace manually.

-In XHTML editor, Show In Browser button does not render the file
in the default system browser (IE or Netscape). A File Download
 pop-up occurs instead.
Workaround: Save .xhtml file as .html, then select Show in Browser.

GUI
---
-It is not possible to navigate to remote folders from File->Open by
 clicking on a directory.
Workaround: Map the remote folder to a local drive, then File->Open
            the mapped drive.

-From Windows Explorer, double-clicking a file name containing
Chinese or other non-English letters, does not open an editor.
Workaround: Start NMIT, then open the file using File->Open.

-Adding a new size to the Preferences/ "Show warning when sending
a file larger than" list, blanks out all other sizes in list.
Workaround: Add the new size, select Apply or OK button, then
reselect Preferences. Only one new size can be added.

-Bookmark editing window closes if user highlights the text in either
of the Title, Location or Comments textboxes and right-clicks it.
Workaround: Highlight text, then use shortcuts to Cut, Copy or Paste.

HELP
----
-Context sensitve Help has been removed from the NMIT Help menu.
Workaround: Refer to the NMIT 4.1 User's Guide link.

SDKs AND CONTROLS
-----------------
-Starting NMIT 4.1 might not attach to already running instances
 of 7210 & Series 60 SDKS.
Workaround: Start new instances from the SDK Control Panel.

-In some cases, selecting 'X' on the SDK Control Panel might
just disconnect from that SDK rather than shutting it down.
Workaround: Close the SDK by clicking the 'X' on the SDK GUI.

-Closing the Series 60 CA SDK by clicking 'X' on it's SDK GUI
does not update the SDK Control Panel.
Workaround: On the SDK Control Panel, click the 'X' for the closed
            SDK before restarting the SDK.

-SDK startup/exit might not function properly on a slow system
 with limited memory.
Workaround: None.
